Aaron Nesmith of the Pacers misses his third straight game

SACRAMENTO --At his pregame press conference on Thursday before Indiana's 10 p.m. game against the Kings, Pacers coach Rick Carlisle announced that point guard Andrew Nembhard would be a game-time decision due to a thoracic spine sprain, and that Nembhard would miss his third straight game due to lower leg issues.

Tyrese Haliburton, an All-Star point guard, is listed as questionable on the injury report, but Carlisle confirmed that he will not play against the Kings on Thursday night. On the other hand, forward Obi Toppin (calf strain) and guard Bennedict Mathurin (ankle sprain) will be available.

Due to the injuries, the Pacers are already severely short-staffed following their trade of guard Bruce Brown Jr. and forward Jordan Nwora for All-NBA wing Pascal Siakam on Wednesday, in addition to losing three draft picks.

Siakam has not yet reported to the team, and Brown and Nwora have already left. Additionally, the Pacers had to release forward James Johnson to add guard Kira Lewis to the roster, who they then traded to the Raptors.

According to sources, the Pacers plan to re-sign Siakam, but he had to clear waivers first and had yet to return to the team by Thursday.

A veteran named T.J. McConnell will start at point guard instead of Haliburton and Nembhard, while Buddy Hield and Mathurin will start at shooting guard and small forward, respectively, and Jalen Smith and Myles Turner at power forward and center.

The Pacers have 11 men available, but two are two-way players, Oscar Tshiebwe and Kendall Brown.
